Privacy

Your screen goes where you send it, and nowhere else.

The Beckon app has no account, no analytics and no servers of its own.

When Beckon reads the screen

Only when you press the shortcut or click Open Bar. It then reads the app you were in: the page, selection, open file, project folder, PDF text, terminal output, or a screenshot read with on-device OCR. Every piece shows as a chip you can leave out before sending. Password fields and password managers are never read, and you can add any app to a never-read list.

Where it goes

Only to the agent you choose, when you press Return: into your terminal, a chat app on your Mac, or a web page you open. That agent's own privacy policy then applies. Beckon masks API keys, tokens and passwords it recognises before sending (you can turn this off).

Apple Intelligence

Prompt suggestions, routing and condensing run on Apple's on-device model. Nothing is sent to Apple.

Files on your Mac

Prompt files and screenshots handed to agents are kept in Application Support for a day, then deleted. An optional local history of what you sent (agent, app, your message) stays on your Mac; turn it off or clear it in Settings. Usage numbers come from the log files your agents already keep, read-only.

Network

By default, one request: a weekly license check with Dodo Payments (your license key and this Mac's name). Offline, Beckon keeps working for 30 days.

Update check (optional)

Off by default. If you turn it on, once a day Beckon fetches the latest version number from beckon.macmuse.app, a plain request with no cookies and nothing about you or your Mac, and shows a Download button when there is a newer version. Beckon never downloads or installs anything itself.

Live plan limits (optional)

Off by default. If you turn it on, when you open the menu Beckon reads Claude Code's sign-in from your Keychain (macOS asks you first) and asks Anthropic for your 5-hour and weekly limits, the same request Claude Code's /usage makes, and reads Cursor's sign-in from Cursor's settings to ask Cursor for your plan usage, as Cursor's own usage panel does. Each sign-in goes only to its own company and is never stored or changed by Beckon.

Agents asking for context (MCP)

Off by default. If you turn it on, Beckon saves what it captured on your last press to a file on your Mac so the read-only beckon-cli tool can give it to agents you run locally. Turning it off deletes the file.

This site uses Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use it: clicks, scrolling and session replays, with what you type in the demo masked. Clarity sets cookies and processes this data under Microsoft's privacy statement (privacy.microsoft.com). The app itself has none of this. Checkout happens on Dodo Payments' pages under their policy; we receive your email so we can send your license and support you. Downloads are served by Cloudflare.
